Alternative uses of safety nets

When we talk about safety nets we usually associate them with the construction or renovation of buildings or civil works (bridges, viaducts, etc).

But from time to time we find other more picturesque uses, dedicated to more recreational or sporting activities and, why not, to fun.

One of our clients has set up some recreational areas where paintball, ziplines, etc. are mixed: Platoon – Project Division

It is these last ones that we want to deal with in this post.

A zip line consists of a pulley suspended on a cable, usually made of stainless steel, with a certain vertical inclination. It is designed to allow the load or a person driven by gravity to travel from the top to the bottom of the cable by holding on to or remaining attached to the pulley that slides over it.

The function of the zipline has evolved over time from a rapid means of transport to a tourist and recreational icon.

In this particular case, this zip line has been extended from one prefabricated base to another and, as an additional means of safety, a parallel protective net has been installed underneath in order to protect against possible falls of users or objects. We must remember that a helmet and a harness are required to carry out this activity under minimum safety conditions.
